Mainly a live set from 1978 at the infamous Keg club in Washington DC. Joe Hasselvander's liner notes tell the tale of these heady days as the house band for this red light district club where The Cherry People (Punky Meadows of Angel) and Link Wray had also served their time. At age 17, drummer Hasselvander and three other string-slinging new members were ready to prove themselves with the legendary Bobby Liebling as Pentagram Mark II. The band indeed sound hungry and rip the roof off as the bizarre mix of freaks, dealers, alkies, and sex trade personnel soon shed their confusion and realize they really dig killer Doom Metal! The When The Screams Come/Livin' In A Ram's Head single performed by the same lineup and released the same year on High Voltage Records, mastered from the test pressing, is included at disc's end. These are the only released recordings of this short-lived lineup.
Definitely worth picking up this piece of Metal history and raw brilliance, a must for any serious Pentagram fan's or Doom-Head's collection! There was just no point in butchering this vintage rare recording with the .mp3 format, so you get high quality lossless .wavs, but I stand by my statement made in the previous sentence!
