On the 27th of November in 2012, five guys were sitting in a basement and shared a couple of beers, listening to old school 80’s Heavy Metal. In the middle of all joviality, they somehow felt nostalgic and a bit frustrated that various new productions could not measure up to the old pure masterpieces. They decided to do something about it and as a result, Ambush was born.

Gauntlet formed in July 2012 by the guitarist Nick Bardosis.The band finally formed after 4 months because the bass player came much later that the other 4 members. The band has a clear purpose to play heavy metal the closest way it was played in the 80s.
Influences of the greatest metal bands of the 80’s and many other bands that were moving in the underground scene are clear in the 1st demo which the band released itself in February 2013 in title ‘’Break the chains’’.
The band has a clear aim to compose and promote it’s own songs and never got involved in playing cover songs.

Uploader Notes: HERE'S ANOTHER EXTREMELY RARE DEMO FROM MY ARCHIVES!!!! Demonic Force was my "real" first band. The band formed in early 1988 after my previous band didn't work out. By late spring/early summer of 1988 the band recorded this 4 song demo on a Tascam 4-track (remember those??). This demo got us some gigs including an opening spot for female thrash band Meanstreak. As time went on the bassist (Mark) was getting into industrial/gothic/ rock and left the band to pursue other projects of that genre. The guitarist (Arnold) and I would continue on and eventually form the beginning of Mercenari, which of course would later turn into Midian. Two of the tracks "Nature's Warning" and "Dark Future" were still used and could be heard live at a Mercenari show and also these songs were re-recorded on the Mercenari 1989 demo. LIKE I SAID THIS A REAL RARE DEMO. NO ONE HAS THIS DEMO EXCEPT BAND MEMBERS AND A FEW FEW FRIENDS OF MINE FROM HIGH SCHOOL (maybe ha ha). NOW...IT'S YOUR TURN TO OWN THIS COOL RECORDING. The band never had a proper logo. I found this logo recently. I don't remember who exactly drew this. Could've been one of my high school chums...who knows. Enjoy!!!!!! ACUT was a hard rock/metal band from Skellefteå formed Christmas day 1980 by Nicklas Bränberg, Jonas Staflund and Micael Burman, all 12 years old at the time. They started out with DAG VAG & EDDIE MEDUZA covers and later wrote their own meterial. The band had the song "Han Sålde Sin Frihet" on a local 1984 demo compilation engineered by Kjell Nästén.
ACUT played the last gig Spring 1987 at Magasinet, Skellefteå comped by AUTOROCK guitarist Niclas Marklund. Nicklas Bränberg and Micael Burman later continued in the blues group THE WYATT EARP BAND (had the song "See You In Hell Blind Boy") on the 'R & R (1989)' compilation.

Here's an oddity I stumbled on while listening to my older tapes. This is a recording tape for the Merciful Fate EP in 1982. It's not really a crisp sounding tape, but I can't get the sound any more sparkling, so please bare with me on this one. The first two track are for the karaoke fans: instrumental only. The third track might just be the one that ended up on the EP, but I know some tracks took several recordings to get it perfect. So it just might be al little different (I can't tell).

A rip (not from an original demo, but a copy) from a dutch band called Angle. They were from Groningen, The Netherlands. The band was founded by Rene Houwen & John Roffel, who also played drums for Vortex from 1985 to 1986. He´s the drummer on their Open The Gates LP as well.
