Jackie Wulf and the band went into the Record Studio "Zuckerfabrik" in january 1986 to record a single with the songs "Mad House / Shanghai". Ralf Stoney was at the time with TYRAN PACE, which supported URIAH HEEP on their 86 Tour through Switzerland, Austria and Germany. Ralf Stoney persuaded J. Wulf to change his mind and instead of producing a single make a MLP. Ralf and Jackie wrote most of the songs on "Metal Wings". Bass-player Mick Shirley (known from OVERKILL, BEAST OF PREY and SINNER) wrote "Unforgiven".

The Songs was recorded in Autum 86 at the Recordingstudio "Synthon Esslingen". The studio belonged to the publisher of the label "Sound of Future". Sound of Future liked what he heard and gave Jackie an exklusive record contract telling him they want to record a complete record. Ralf and Jackie writes four new songs and try to record them in 3 days. They fail and the songs are not complete when they leave the studio. They try again and at another studio in Stuttgart. But when the band came to record, the doors where closed and the date was canceld. The reason was, that the Studio owners "dog" had died. The band finds a new studio; Tukan at Kornwestheim. The recording started on tuesday at the spring of 1988 and the record is finished shortly after. It's pressed in 5000 copies and sold worldwide. - http://www.myspace.com/jackiewulfband
