Black Death came exploding like a bat of hell onto the Ohio metal scene in 1977 and was one of the earliest known all African-American metal bands. They released a demo in 1983, an EP and full length in 1984,and were on the Cleveland Metal comp in 1983, along with Mistreater and Breaker. There was also a selftitled demo tape in 1982, which included different recordings of the songs that would be used on the Cleveland Metal comp. Siki Spacek and Phil Bullard have formed a new project called "The Legend Of Black Death: Mandrake", which have played live several times, including the BW&BK Six-Pack Weekend, and the "Legends Of Cleveland Metal" concert (alongside Wretch, Aftershok, Nightcrawler, and Destructor).
