Info:
Krassnyij Rassvet (Red Dawn) were a russian heavy metal/hard rock band who shortly existed between 1989 and 1991. Original line up was composed by bass player Andrej Girnyik (formerly in the cult band Tyazhelyij Den/Hard Day) and drummer Aleksandr Belousov (previously in the very famous and seminal rock band Nautilus, a legend of the ex-USSR).
In 1989 they recorded their first "magnito album" (reel-to-reel tape, a sort of "demo") called "Durnoe Predchustvie" that M.A. wrongly lists as an Lp.
The sound was a very good heavy metal with touches of hard rock and even bluesy influences, not that much commercial and really nice to listen to. Then in 1990 a big change in line up brings in new vocalist Aleksandr Martyinov (from the hard rock band Karavan) and the sound radically changes into a more commercial, lighter and boring A.O.R./Soft metal. With a new line up and new direction in sound they record a second "Magnito album" called "Reka vremeni" and few song for the "Russian Rock-91" 4-way split CD (a real rarity nowadays!) with other bands such as Novyi Zavet, Demarsh and Nebesnoye Electrichestvo. They split up in 1992 leaving some unreleased recordings.
I can't read russian so some information may be wrong. But it seem that there is a big confusion and a lot of doubts about their Lp releases on Melodiya Records: I can't understand if they are the same recordings of the 2 "magnito albums" or they are different/remixed versions. Plus the story and the recordings made in 1991-1992 do not look very clear in the few lines I can read from the booklet.
This CD is a real rarity and mistery too...it was out suddenly in 2009, printed and distributed (?) by the unknown label Alpha Records. It's a very cheap and poor edition, booklet looks home printed and the printing in the surface of the cd seems home made as well. It quickly disappeared and went out of print right after few weeks and most collectors in Russia couldn't even find a copy of it. There are some songs taken from the second Lp plus a lot of unknown recordings made from the later line up, but there are no information at all...still russian collectors wonder where these songs are taken from and where to find other copies of this (anyhow) interesting CD
Enclosed you can find full scans of front+back+cd+booklet. Enjoy it!
