Info found on the net:
MERCENARY MUSTANGS were from the Östersund area (yes from the same part of the northern Sweden as 220 Volt). The bands early beginning can be traced back to the act MIGHTY RIFF that was formed in 1979/1980. MIGHTY RIFF were a band that started out as a cover band but when Pär Noren joined in 1980 then they started to write their own material. A demo was recorded in 1981 and the band took as many gigs as possible and many of them were done at the local motorcycle club called Eagles MC that was located in Jarpen. Bandleader Owe Wulff was a STATUS QUO fan so the MIGHTY RIFF material had a sound that mixed Quo with AC/DC.
A second demo with no less than 10-tracks were recorded in 1982 but unfortunately all 4 copies of the demo are lost except for one track. The track that survived was called ‘Wanted For Rock n Roll’ and it was played on Radio Jämtland. When MIGHTY RIFF split up the two MERCENARY MUSTANG members Ove Wulff and Pär Noren started to jam with bass player Åke Mohlin. Mr Mohlin was a fan of the harder wave of English and Swedish metal that had been blossoming during the last years. He forced Wulff and Noren to write and play harder material then ever before and together they formed the band called INTRUDER in 1983. The band recorded a few tracks on a borrowed Tascam Porta recorded and two tracks where released by Pang records in 1984 on a compilation album called ‘Mixed Music For Lonely Nights’ (PLP030).
The band went on a break when the members had to do their military service but were back for another demo in 1985. Their last gig was played in 1986 and after that Wulff moved to Gothenburg. However he returned back to Moril in Jämtland in 1987 and hooked up with his old mate Pär Noren and this time around they started to play in a blues cover band called ROADHOUSE that did rather well. However after a few years the music started to become less bluesy and more melodic so the band decided to change name. ROADHOUSE became MERCENARY MUSTANG in 1990 a melodic hardrock act. The band recorded several demos and got one track called ‘Judy Go Round’ onto a local compilation cd in 1991, they also made a live recording for the Swedish radio and this vinyl single was released on the small John records in 1990.
Like most other hardrock and heavy metal bands in the early 90s had a hard time to compete with the grunge monster and the members of MERCENARY MUSTANGS reappeared with a new guitarist under the name of ORANGE DISASTER that lasted until 1996.

STRAPPADO,thanx for this very rare post.I liked a lot the INTRUDER song with it's Y&T style opening riff! MIGHTY RIFF are more in the NWOBHM influenced style, with HARD ROCK elements too!MERCENARY MUSTANGS have the best sound quality here,a melodic HARD ROCK anthem, very good song!As for ROADHOUSE, killer hard rock-80's metal!I especially picked up, as standing out track here ,the great "Mighty Blues",a very NWOBHM style tune!!"Once All Around" is a more bluesy ,laid back tune, great one too!OVE WULFF, totally unkown to me,and to many of us i suppose, thanx again STRAPPADO, for bringing to our ears all these buried and obscure goodies!!
