Uploader Notes: In 1980 Joe Vescovi, former keyboard's player of "The Trip" (a well known italian progressive rock band that recorded four LPs in the 70's,actually founded by Ritchie Blackmore in the middle of the 60's when he briefly moved to Italy... he soon went back to UK and the rest is history...but "The Trip" did not quit...)founded Knife Edge(the monicker was taken from the same song by E.L.P.),he recruited Fabrizio Cruciani on vocals (former Vanexa and later also with Crossbones) and a young Steve Tessarin on guitar(he was 17 at that time)and Fortunato Saccà on bass from Vanadium(they played in both bands at the same time)and later
Gianfranco Segatto on second guitar and Maurizio Granata on drums; in 1982 KE recorded a five tracks demo(btw it's on Strappado's blog yet, anyway i included it here)and played a couple of live shows(actually the only live gigs they ever played)supporting Atomic Rooster(UK)in Torino and Milano before disbanding.
Tessarin went on playing with Vanadium,Cruciani languished in the underground before disappearing from the metal scene (now he is the owner of the "Van Der Graaf" a rock live pub in his hometown Savona) while Vescovi and the rest of Knife Edge became the backing band of Umberto Tozzi(a well known italian popstar).
Knife Edge were heavily influenced by Rainbow(Bonnet/Turner era), I uploaded the five demo tracks(but these tracks are on the web from years)and most important the live recording of the
show played in Milano at Teatro Smeraldo, enjoy!!!
Please note that i am not sure about the titles of some of the live tracks(not included in the demo tape and my english is not good enough...)any info is more than welcome.
P.S. for completists and fanatics,Knife Edge appears under the fake monicker of Tarrot in the soundtrack of an italian movie, the comedy "Attila,Flagello di Dio (1982 - with Diego Abatantuono) playing an instrumental theme called "La Battaglia"(The Battle), while the rest of the sountrack is played by PFM(Premiata Forneria Marconi, one of the most important italian progressive bands), needlees to say that this LP is almost impossible to find.
