The story of Victim started in June 1978 when Staf De Peuter and Gust Meerts decided to disband their band Mustang and start a new group named Hassle. They left guitar player Jef Sas (b.1951.08.08) and singer Willy Vissers (b.1952.11.27) disillusioned and so this duo immediately decided to form their own band simply named Victim, as that was exactly how they felt at that time. They were very ambitious and really wanted to be more successful than Hassle who was by then in the local press called a super-group.
