The band later went on and recorded a video for "Wall of Power" produced by Pironti Video of N.Y.. In June of '87 the video was released on Florida's west coast video station V-32 where it hit their Top 12 Dirty Dozen for four out of five weeks running and with competition like Whitesnake, Cinderella and Bon Jovi that was no mean feat.
Five weeks after the video's release, Powersurge decided to follow it up with an official demo entitled "Elements Of Metal" (this one). This independently released EP includes the 24-track version of "Wall of Power" and "Tear Up The Pavement" along with four other songs: "Eye of The Storm", "Busted", "The Stalk" and "Wholesome Americans". These four were picked picked from a group of 18 recorded live in the studio in Nov '86 and were picked solely on the basis of sound and quality, not commerciality or popularity. The two 24-track songs are the pick of the pack, the former being well titled with lyrics actually about their live show and solid, powering guitars and rhythm.
"Tear Up The Pavement" is an anti-radio song about the lack of balls all the station play and features a cool mid-section. "Eye Of The Storm" displays J. Marra's great, soaring voice to the maximum and there is also plenty of musical variation. "Busted" (obviously about getting locked in the slammer but stating how stupid it is) and "Wholesome Americans" about complaining, robotized yanks both rock out with a vengeance and prove Powersurge's high energy.
