Release: Jamie Lee Saint, MLP 1988
Country: Canada (Toronto, Ontario)
Label: Private / Black Swan Records #Larry 1/Larry 2
Edition: xxx copies
Format: 12" Vinyl
Samples: Breakdown / Woman of Mystery
Info: JAMIE LEE SAINT is the follow-up to BANSHEE, you know the band who released the single 'Breakdown'. The band includes 3 of the former members along with two guests and a new drummer (couldn't find out if they have been involved in any other bands, info welcomed). The MLP is not only a private release it's also one of the most "homemade" records I come across. The front/back covers is plain white regular sleeves with glued on artwork made in paper. Some copies seem to have come with a "red triangle" glued on as well. I am not sure, but this may have some relation to the illustration artist Kent Holm who is thanked on the back-sleeve (he made covers for AB/CD, Dag Finn, the Rockbox comp etc). A cool record worth to hunt down and ofc a must have for fans of BANSHEE.
You can listen to two of the songs from it here: "Woman of Mystery" and the new version of the classic BANSHEE 7" track "Breakdown".
Line-Up
Jamie Lee "Cooper" Saint - Vocals (Banshee, Jade)
Michael "Mladen" Zarron - Guitars (Banshee, Trip)
Chad Temple - Bass (Banshee)
Ian Turner - Drums

Mark Mouseau - Drums (on "Surrender)
Record Info
Produced by Michael Krowczynski.

"Unearthing the Obscure" will be a serie where I publish some info about almost totally unknown and forgotten bands (often not available anywhere else on the net). I will always try to give you as much details as possible, including back + front sleeves and some samples. Also note that everything are taken from my own converstations with a reliable source (often a member of the band, producer, friend or relative). Feel free to ask questions or provide more info in the comments!.

Special thanks goes out to Dan!.
WITCH was a shortlived and very unknown band from Dayton, Ohio consisting of the members Ace Matthews (Vocals), Teg George (Guitar), Dave Chappie (Bass) and Tony Chappie (Drums). Their only release was the 'Salem's Rise' LP recorded in Tim Groegan's studio in Huber Heights (a suburb of Dayton). The studio was nothing more then a spare bedroom converted for recording work. The album was released on Tim's label Eargasm Records in 1985 limited to 100 copies. Guitarist Ted Goerge also released several singles on Tim's label (see 'Chained Heat / Rock'n Roll Dreams') and later founded the band BLUE GLOVE.
Line-Up:
Ace Matthews - Vocals
Ted George - Guitar (Blue Glove, Ted George)
Dave Chappie - Bass
Tony Chappie - Drums
Record Info:
Recorded, Mixed and Mastered at Audio Productions, New Carlisle, OH.
Produced by Ted George.

"Joy" mentioned in the thanklist was Tim's wife and Pokey and Boots was their cats.
Thanklist:
L.D. Hampshire for keyboards, vocal characterizations, spells and general aggravation. Benny Phillips for all his help in the past years, Peg, Joy, Connie, Laura, Kelly, Heather, Pokey, Boots, Dean Guitars, Marshall, Zildjan, Rick M., Jim, Old Man Winter, Bud & J.D., Bonesy's, Wild Shirley, Dave, Pooh, Aunt Edna, The last unicorn & other goblins, dragons, dwarves, trolls, & mystical creatures of the night. And a special thanks to all our friends, families & fans who supported us throughout the years -- we needed it. Tim Grogean and Mike Niklas for all of their hard work and time spent on the album, and all the good times and parties at Eargasm Productions.
