Rip and share by einride, thanks man!!.

Uploader Notes: Pre-MESHUGGAH thrash metal from Umeå, Sweden. This is from a tape dub and track 3 was actually listed as "????!!????" in the inlay. Not sure if that's an official title. The MP3 file is called "Untitled" instead since ? and ! are illegal file name characters. This is my own rip and as far as I know, this is the first time this tape has ever been on the Internet. Here is a rare present from vocalist Peter Wallgren of EUREKA (ex-SYRUS)!. This is their
debut demo recorded in feb/march 1992 - pressed in only 50 copies!. Tons of thanks to you Peter!!.

Peter Wallgren - Vocals (DevilStone)
Jonas Wikström - Guitars (Angel Heart)
Per Wallgren - Bass (Syrus)
Tobias "Tobben" Gustafsson - Drums (Syrus, Vomitory, God Among Insects, Torture Division,
Timothy Griffiths' Psychedelic Sunrise, The Project Hate MCMXCIX)

Background Info (taken from the "Dogshit" video posted at Youtube):
Heavy Metal band from Forshaga, Sweden, formed in 1988 by Peter Wallgren and Ronnie Österberg (both now in the heavy metal band DEVILSTONE), in this early stage a handful of different members came and went and the line-up was of rather loose character. After a while Per Wallgren and Tobias Gustafsson from the more established heavy metal band SYRUS joined the band as well as the guitar ace John Lundqvist.

In August 1991 Jonas Wikström (ex-ANGEL HEART) replaced John Lundqvist and this line-up recorded a four track demo in 1992. At this point EUREKA had a lot of gigs in their part of Sweden, among them the first "Arvikafestivalen" in 1992, but as the Death Metal scene escalated in the early 90s EUREKA found it hard to compete with the more extreme acts, and the group disbanded in 1994.

After hearing the 'Faith and Fear' album of these Älvsjö punkmetalheads I was curious in how their later material sounded like. I did a fast search at google and stumbled upon their (supposed) last demo-tape over at LOCKJAW!. What a great surprise!, and even more suprising was their style change from the album, here taking more influences from heavy metal than raw punk/hardcore. However the album are in my ears still more enjoyable mainly becouse of the Swedish lyrics and their incredible unique style of mixing tons of genres in one single song.

Anyway, it's a damn good tape we got here!, "Disneyland" favorited!. My biggest thanks goes out to YAPPY and GRINDFREAK for the post!. If someone have their other two demos 'Like a Bulldozer on Angel Dust... (1991)' and 'She Went to the Butcher (1991)' please get in touch!.

Debut and only official release from CEMETARIUM (ex-OTAKT) which was based in Älvsjö, Stockholm. They also had some songs included on the compilation albums 'Really Fast vol. 5', 'Hard, Raw And Fast' and 'Son of Bllleeeeaaauuurrrrgghhh!'. The album was recorded at Tom-Tom Studios in June '88. Engineered by Thomas Wretman. Mixed by Jocke Ståhlfors & Patrick Båkman in August 1988 and issued by Chickenbrain Records [#CEM 1]. Logo design by Kjell Wiberg & the awesome back-cover was designed by Carina Soe-Knudsen.

At first I found the album fuckin' terrible but gave it a second chance and some spins later I actually got into it. It is for sure not an easy listened record we are dealing with here so get ready for a noisy mix of speed / thrash blended with punk/hardcore vocals (Hell I think I even heard some SARCOFAGO screams). There is also some parts with really awesome heavy metal riffing. The vocalist seems to be more into punk while the rest of the band concentrates on playing speed/thrash, this mix get's kinda awkward. They should have kept their former name OTAKT (OUT OF STEP) which describes the band perfectly!.

Recommended songs are "I am the Future", "Dimma På Okänd Ort" "Surrounded by Idiots" and "Livets Sjuka Ord".

If someone have any of their demo-tapes 'Like A Bulldozer On Angel Dust' / 'Love And Discipline' or 'She Went To The Butcher' for share/trade please get in touch!.

Info:
Swedish thrash metal act FALLEN ANGEL was founded in Örebro in 1987. The band released two demos in the late 80s "Fallen Angel [Demo] (1988)" / "Hang Over [Demo] (1989)" and played all over the town at the same time. Jörgen Sigfridsson loved this band and made sure he got the rights to use the track "Etanolic Intoxication" from the "Hang Over" demo for a 4-track split vinyl single that he was going to release on his own Opinionate records. The single was released in 1990 and the same year the band went into the Eagle One studios to try out new material. Instead of putting out another demo the band decided to self finance a vinyl release. The end result is this self titled 7-track album (on some sites its named "Trapped In Sibiria").

By this time the band its loyal followers and they worked hard to get as many live gigs as possible. They opened up for CANDLEMASS at this time and it wouldn’t take long before labels were showing interest. The band finally signed to Massacre records but when their first full length album "Faith Falls" appeared in 1992 the band had lost its momentum and soon called it a day. Vocalist Johan Bülow would later record with one of Örebros finest acts WOLF.
